A small-town sheriff and her deputy awaken to a changed world where the dead rise and the town descends into chaos.

Directed by John Adams, Toby Poser | 86 min | 2026 | USA | Rated 14+

Starring: Toby Poser, John Adams, Zelda Adams, Lulu Adams

*Spotlight on the Adams Family (the filmmaking collective, not the franchise). After the documentary Blood & Guts screening at 2:15 pm, join us for the Alberta premiere of the Adams Family’s new film, The Glorious Dead.

A small-town sheriff and her deputy awaken to a changed world where blood drips from taps, people vanish, creatures roam the woods, and the dead rise as the town descends into chaos. This is the latest from the filmmaking family who have delivered such modern day indie horror classics as Mother of Flies and Hellbender.

THE GLORIOUS DEAD might be their best film yet—a gritty, fast paced, raw police procedural draped in supernatural wrapping. Toby Poser delivers a fantastic performance as Sheriff Deb, the beleaguered officer trying to make sense of just what the hell is going on in her previously quiet little town.

Festivals: Fantasia International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest

Rated 14+, violence, gory scenes, coarse language.

*Patrons under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
