Stroller Tours | In Whose Eyes

New parents are welcome to join us on a monthly tour of the AGA’s current exhibitions. This tour series has been designed to have adult conversation, opportunities to socialize with other parents, baby play ,and added flexibility to ensure if you need to step away to attend to your little one, you won’t miss a thing!

These tours are offered the last Wednesday of the month at 11am and are FREE with General Admission.

Join us on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for a special curator-led tour of What Shapes Us, led by Alaynee Goodwill-Littlechild, TD Curator of Indigenous Creativity at the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Bringing together works by a variety of Indigenous artists across generations and Nations, such as Wally Dion and Tamara Lee-Anne Cardinal. What Shapes Us explores the ways shape, space and repetition can carry meaning, memory and connection. Through textiles, sculpture, beadwork, carving and installation, the exhibition highlights the richness and diversity of Indigenous abstraction, not only as visual language but an evolving practice shaped by distinct artistic approaches, traditions and many ways of artmaking.

Join us in The Reciprocity Garden | ᐋᐧᐦᑰᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ (wâhkôhtowin) on Truth and Reconciliation Day, for a conversation with Alaynee Goodwill-Littlechild and Sara McKarney. Together, we’ll reflect on our relationship to the land, our responsibilities to the places we live and gather, and what it means to be better stewards of the land. The garden offers a space to pause, connect, and consider how caring for the land can also foster connection, care, and reciprocity within our communities

Together in this space, the garden holds us all: the people, the plants, the creatures and the soil. It takes care to be able to thrive, and this tending gives us what we need in return. Through tending this space, we also care for each other. Come along as we consider what we sow, be it plants, ideas, dreams, or relationships.
