Learn more about how BITO Lab makes industry-grade customer research and design methods accessible to startups and enterprise teams with no design or technical background—giving them a structured process and guided practice to learn what their customers actually think, need, and will pay for.
BITO Lab is an Edmonton-based product innovation studio founded by Saida Barre and Watson Hebron. Saida is a formally trained UX designer and researcher with over a decade of industry experience. Watson is a principal engineer with over 10 years of experience guiding innovation by building efficient software solutions that deliver measurable market impact. Together they bring a rare combination to the Edmonton ecosystem — the research and human-centred design expertise to understand what customers actually need, paired with the engineering depth to know what it takes to build it right.
Why validation matters
Most early-stage founders don't fail because they aren't talented or hardworking. They fail because they build the wrong thing — spending months and capital on a solution before finding out whether the problem is real, whether the customer is who they thought, and whether anyone will actually pay for it. BITO Lab exists to close that gap. Through structured workshops and sprint-based programs, we give founders and enterprise teams the tools, the process, and the guided practice to answer those questions before the build begins.
Three pillars. Fourteen programs.
BITO Lab's programs are organized across three studio pillars — Design Thinking Studio, Sprint Studio, and UX Research Lab — each targeting a distinct phase of the validation journey. From a half-day Problem Framing Clinic for teams just getting started, to the five-day Validation Sprint for founders ready to put their idea in front of real customers, every program is designed to produce a named deliverable — not just a learning experience. All programs are built for founders and teams with no prior design or research background.
Soft Launch
At the ERIN meetup, you'll get a firsthand look at how BITO Lab works, including a live demonstration of our assumption-mapping methodology and the opportunity to register for a founding cohort program at our introductory rate.
If you're a founder with an idea you haven't fully tested yet, a startup that's started building and hit a wall of uncertainty, or an enterprise team looking to validate a new product or service before committing resources, this is where to start.
We're not here to tell you whether your idea is good. We're here to help you find out for yourself.
