An Edmonton-born Punjabi food writer decides to review 50 butter chickens across the city. It starts as a silly food project, but memories of growing up desi in Mill Woods creep in: family fights, trying to fit in, and being reduced to a stereotype.

Beneath the laughs and restaurant disasters is a story about immigrant trauma, assimilation, and trying to find yourself in the meals people carry across oceans. Ramneek Singh is an Edmonton food writer best known for the two-year Butter Chicken Odyssey project documenting the city's Indian and Pakistani restaurants.
