Join Alberta Craft for the first event in our Craft Community series of free outdoor gatherings, that bring together Craft artists, makers, and community organizations to celebrate creativity and connection. in the beautiful new O’day-min Park on our block in downtown Edmonton.

Our first gathering highlights Craft for YEG, a volunteer led group that empowers local makers to contribute meaningful crafted items to Edmonton and area hospitals and charities. Meet the Craft for YEG community of makers as they share their skills for a day of knitting, crocheting, and community.

Whether you're an experienced maker, just learning, or simply curious about the work of Craft for YEG, everyone is welcome.

Bring your current project, connect with fellow crafters, and enjoy a relaxing day outdoors while learning how handmade items make a meaningful difference in our community.

Spend the day:

  • Learning knitting & crochet from Craft for YEG volunteers

  • Joining Dawn Woolsey's drop-in Make a Softcover Book workshop (12–4 PM)

  • Crafting with provided supplies

  • Meeting the Craft for YEG community

  • Grabbing lunch from local food trucks with food and beverages available for purchase

Craft for YEG is a volunteer-led community that connects makers with local charities and organizations supporting people and animals in need throughout the Edmonton area. From warm hats and scarves to premature baby clothing, hospital slippers, blankets, and toys, every handmade item helps strengthen our community.

Alberta Craft’s series of Craft Community events is made possible through the generous support of the City of Edmonton’s Downtown Action Plan Fund.
