Stories, lessons, and hard-earned wisdom from people building beyond the ordinary.
Most stories are told after they have been cleaned up.
The title, company, promotion, public win, the thing people can point to and call success, but that is rarely the real story. The real story is usually less polished, more complicated, and more human.
The decision that did not make sense at the time. The door that opened because of one relationship. The risk nobody understood. The failure that became a turning point. The identity shift that had to happen before the opportunity could arrive.
The Unordinary is a monthly live conversation series for people who are building beyond the ordinary.
Each month, Lindsey Machona sits down with a featured guest who has built an uncommon path in business, career, creativity, community, leadership, or life. Not to extract a highlight reel or to perform inspiration, but to ask what it really took.
The story beneath the bio. The lessons behind the success. The hard-earned wisdom people usually only share in private rooms.
This is not motivational speaking. It is not a coach selling a course from the stage. It is not a room full of strangers trying to pitch each other. It is not empty networking, vague advice, or a five-step formula pretending to be truth.
It is one real conversation with someone who has built beyond the expected path, followed by audience Q&A, curated connection, and space for better conversations with people who are also building something meaningful.
Come for the story. Stay for the room. Leave with something you can actually carry forward.
The evening begins with arrival, food, drinks, and open connection. You will have time to meet people before the formal program begins.
Lindsey will then open the room and introduce the featured guest. The main conversation is designed to feel more like a live podcast than a traditional panel. Intimate, specific, honest, and practical.
The featured guest will share the real story behind what they built, how they got started, what challenged them, what changed them, and what they learned along the way.
After the conversation, the room opens for a live audience Q&A. Ask what you actually want to know.
The night closes with a short sponsor moment and more time for conversation, connection, and lingering with the people you were meant to meet.
