A one-night-only fundraiser in support of Fringe Theatre

Edmonton does a lot of things well.
We fill arenas.
We fill theatres.
We cheer loudly.
We make weird art.
Sometimes we do it all at once.

For one night only, Fringe Theatre and Rapid Fire Theatre are bringing together Edmonton’s most iconic institutions for an absurd, unpredictable, high-energy showdown where improv meets ACTUAL SPORTS.

Rapid Fire’s legendary TheatreSports format gets a mascot-sized remix as teams of improvisers go head-to-head (and maybe beak-to-head, hoof-to-head, or whatever mascots have) alongside special fuzzy guests from Edmonton’s world of professional sports.

Expect quick wit. Questionable athleticism. Fierce competition. Unexpected alliances. Good-natured rivalry. And enough lovingly chaotic Edmonton energy to make even the mascots break character.

This isn’t just a show. It’s a fundraiser in support of Fringe Theatre – because keeping Edmonton weird, joyful, and full of bold artistic risks takes all of us.

Come cheer. Come laugh. Come witness something that probably shouldn’t work…but absolutely will.

One night only. No script. No mercy. All heart.

About Fringe Theatre: Fringe Theatre is a charity and the proud producer of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival - the largest, longest-running Fringe Festival in North America and one of the top five worldwide. We create space where anyone can be an Artist, everyone has a story to tell, and audiences and Artists come together in celebration of creativity, curiosity, and connection. We've shone the Fringe spotlight on more than 45,000 Artists since we first exploded onto the scene in 1982. Beyond 11 unforgettable days each August, we keep the Fringe magic going all year long. More than 500 events take the stage at the Fringe Theatre Arts Barns each year. This wonderfully weird, wildly creative Fringe magic is powered by Donors, Sponsors, Partners, Champions, and a whole darn community of Fringers like you. Thank you for supporting Fringe Theatre.

About Rapid Fire Theatre: Rapid Fire Theatre has been Edmonton's #1 choice for improv comedy since 1981, and for over a decade has been the largest producer of shows at the Edmonton Fringe Festival each summer. RFT was founded to produce TheatreSports® in Edmonton, which still runs year-round in Old Strathcona. TheatreSports® is performed all over the world, and the edition produced here at home is one of the OGs!
