Hop on the Artbus and discover the creative side of downtown! ArtBus is a free, all-ages, one-day event that takes riders across downtown Edmonton to galleries and artist-run centres via special ETS buses. On March 21st, hop on at any designated Art Stop across downtown Edmonton to experience art, get creative with hands-on activities, and shop local.

The ETS ArtBuses run in a continuous loop between 9 participating galleries for an easy way to connect people and art downtown. Three chartered ETS ArtBuses will run the route from 12 - 5 p.m. to pick up and drop off participants at each Art Stop, free-of-charge. A vibrant network of downtown art galleries is yours to explore!

Participating galleries include Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts, Alberta Craft Council, Art Gallery of Alberta, EAC Shop, Harcourt House Artist Run Centre, Mitchell Art Gallery, Kisîhtoskâtonaw (Otipemisiwak Métis Government Arts Collective), SNAP Gallery, and Wâwâhtêwa Art Gallery (Boyle Street Community Services).

ArtBus is organized by Mitchell Art Gallery, with generous support from Scott and Kathy Watson, and ETS.

ArtBus will feature 3 specially chartered Edmonton Transit Service Buses, which will be marked to be identified easily as ArtBuses.

You can catch each ArtBus at any of the featured stops, with the very first bus leaving Stop 1 at Allard Hall at 12 p.m., and the others following after 20 minute intervals. Each ArtBus takes about 1 hour to complete its circuit and return to Allard Hall. The event ends at 5 p.m., and the bus will do a final loop at 5 p.m. to drop riders off at their starting points.

On board the ArtBus, ask our friendly volunteer for an ArtBus sticker to display on your person or carry with you. You can use this sticker to receive free admission to the galleries as well as discounts on participating shops and restaurants. You can also grab a copy of the Edmonton Downtown Gallery Map, which lists the galleries and artist-run centers across the heart of downtown.
