Join us for an afternoon of conversation featuring artist Amy Loewan and AGA Curator Lindsey Sharman.

The pair will delve into Loewan's current exhibition, Sanctuary, which centres on a large-scale paper lantern woven from paper and a series of drip paintings. The works feature words like compassion, kindness, respect, understanding, patience, tolerance, gentleness and forgiveness, values the artist believes are essential for peaceful human relationships.

The conversation will be shaped by earlier iterations of Lantern and Loewan's wider artistic practice, while also exploring her efforts to promote peace and understanding through community engagement and education.

This exhibition is organised by the Art Gallery of Alberta and curated by Lindsey Sharman.
