Join New Moon Folk Club for their double bill presentation of Abigayle Oakley & Jed and the Valentine

Abigayle Oakley, a poet and singer-songwriter born in Las Vegas, crafts music that merges the melodic depth of folk traditions with the raw honesty of modern confessional songwriting. Her songs delve into life’s complexities and existential questions, often infused with sharp wit and humor that add layers of insight. Oakley made her debut at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe in 2024 and has since toured across the U.S. and Canada, opening for acclaimed acts like The War and Treaty, Jed and The Valentine, and Forest Blakk.

Her work has been recorded by Nashville artists, including Kate Yeager, Molly Frances, and CMT’s September Artist of the Month, Ash Ruder. When not writing or performing, Abigayle can be found exploring the scenic hills of Tennessee, drawing inspiration from nature to fuel her evocative and deeply personal music.

Jed and the Valentine, the Edmonton-based musical duo of Jonah Morris and Maria Khaner, have quickly become a standout act in Canada’s folk and roots scene. Known for their haunting harmonies and gentle guitar strumming, their music blends soulful melodies with the earthy essence of prairie folk. Since their formation, the duo has captivated audiences with their heartfelt performances and self-managed approach, building a devoted fanbase. Their debut album, Awake!, released in 2024, showcases their growth as artists, drawing comparisons to bands like The Lumineers and The Head and the Heart. The album earned critical acclaim, debuting at #6 on CKUA’s top 30 chart and being featured on CBC’s Provincial playlist.

After a busy summer touring Western Canada, including performances at the Bear Creek and Peace Valley Folk Festivals, Jed and the Valentine continue to enchant listeners with their authentic storytelling and emotional depth, solidifying their place as a rising force in Canadian music.
