Community of Care Empowering Soundbath with Fola Veritas

About the Event

Whether it's listening to your favorite song, enjoying that latest podcast episode, or sharing conversation with a loved one, you have experienced the power of sound. Words & sound are medicine. There is power in the frequencies of sound that can shift the energetics of your body, mind and soul.

That's why you are invited to an Empowering Soundbath treatment from Fola Veritas that will help release any heavy energetics (emotions, physical pains, etc.) that have been held in your nervous system, to help welcome in balance and step back out into the world with compassion.

🧺 What to Bring

  • Yoga mat

  • Bolsters, blankets, pillows — anything that adds to your comfort

  • Journal or paper & pen

  • Water bottle

  • Comfortable clothing (you'll be seated or lying down for ~30–45 minutes

There is nothing else to do except have an open mind and be willing to receive whatever it is you are meant to receive.

🫂 Who It's For

Black, Indigenous, and racialized equity practitioners who conduct their work at the intersections of non-profit, governmen,t and education.

👤 About the Organization — Community of Care for Black, Indigenous and Racialized Equity Practitioners

A monthly community of care for Black, Indigenous and racialized equity practitioners in Edmonton as a way to address the isolation we experience in our roles, provide networking opportunities, and focus on personal development that can support practices that sustain us in the heart and care work we do.

👤 About your Host

Having left a 13-year career as a psychiatric nurse in 2024 to pursue a blend of holistic spiritual healing through sound and creativity, FolaVeritas ties ancestral teachings with modern approaches that help people heal their past and step into a future full of possibilities. She is a mother, a lover, and a creative, who enjoys long walks in nature, sharing stories through various mediums, and inspiring others to bring their dreams to life.

As with most things in life, Folawould say that sound healing found her and handed her the precious gift of shifting her intergenerational & personal trauma stories. She hosts soundbath journeys that blend the healing frequencies of crystal singing bowls, the hand drum, gong and voice, while integrating the wisdom of her ancestral lineage.

Fola is a proponent of self-care & healthy boundary setting. In order to bring your medicine into your communities and for the people you support, it is important that you care for yourself. This is where the soundbath comes in: It is a way to fill your own cup first.
