Deep Freeze honors the Olde New Year, blending timeless traditions with contemporary creativity, making it a unique event that captures the beauty of winter and the spirit of community.

A Celebration of Culture and Tradition

Deep Freeze showcases the vibrant cultures of the Alberta Avenue District, highlighting Ukrainian, French Canadian, Franco African, Indigenous (Métis, Inuit, and First Nations), Latin American, and Asian traditions.

• Visit Pipon Village to snowshoe, roast bannock over an open fire, and enjoy rich cultural storytelling passed down through generations.

• Savor seasonal delights with a variety of traditional and fusion cuisines from Edmonton's diverse communities.

Exciting Activities and Performances

This festival blends tradition and excitement with activities for all ages:

• Deep Freezer Races: Thrill-seekers and spectators love this crowd-pleasing winter favorite.

• Live Performances: Experience music, dance, and storytelling that reflect the heritage and artistry of Edmonton's diverse communities.

• Artistic Showcases: Marvel at intricate ice sculptures and installations that celebrate the beauty and resilience of the season.

Celebrate the Olde New Year in Style
