James Griffith is a international-award winning Toronto-based jazz saxophonist, bandleader and composer.

Born and raised in Lloydminster, Alberta, Griffith aims to push the envelope of contemporary jazz while staying grounded within the swinging tradition of bebop and beyond.

Winner of the 2024 International Saxophone Symposium Jazz Saxophone Competition, Griffith has had the pleasure of working and performing with international jazz icons such as Joe Farnsworth, Larnell Lewis, Terri Lyne Carrington, Dayna Stephens, David Virelles, The U.S. Navy Commodores Big Band, Kirk MacDonald, Mike Downes and more.

As a highly in-demand bandleader, composer and sideman, Griffith can be found performing at historic Toronto venues such as Koerner Hall, The Rex, The Jazz Bistro, The Canadian Opera Company, The Pilot, The Emmet Ray and more.

Our live Tuesday Jam is hosted by a musician and a band while audience members join in on the fun by jamming along on stage.

Musicians who want to participate in the Jam can purchase a “Jam Participant” ticket at a reduced cost.

All Jam Participants need to register at the door upon entry to the event.
