Oct. 24, 2025 to Nov. 8, 2025
WW1 flying ace Billy Bishop recounts his journey from reluctant soldier to celebrated hero in this witty, poignant Canadian stage classic.
Billy Bishop Goes to War is a Canadian musical, written by John MacLachlan Gray in collaboration Eric Peterson. One of the most widely produced plays in Canadian theatre, the two-man play dramatizes the life of Canadian World War 1 fighter pilot Billy Bishop. The story follows the underachieving Bishop from his troubles at the Royal Military College to his transformation into the British Empire's top pilot, a transformation filled with songs, humor, and haunting memories. The play explores themes of heroism, the cost of war, Canada's colonial past, and the brutal realities of conflict, ultimately questioning the nature of war and the creation of a national hero.
