Celebrate Latin American Heritage Month at the City of Edmonton Archives!

What do you think of when you think of home? Maybe it is the smell of a particular laundry soap, a nostalgic song, a story told by family, or the taste of a certain dish.

In honour of Latin American Heritage Month, the City of Edmonton Archives is collaborating with Mi Gente Canada Foundation and the Latin American Student Association (LASA) to host a film and food night at the archives.

Join us for a cooking demonstration and learn how to make pupusas and guava cheese empanadas, and sample regional food and snacks courtesy of Paraiso Tropical.

This will be followed by a screening of The Latin American Family, a documentary tracing the lives of Latin American families and individuals in Montreal in the 1980s (more details below).

Come celebrate the legacy and resiliency of Latin American families and what home means to each of us through food, stories, and community.
