Graham from L’OCA Cellars highlights the subtle ways Canadian whiskies have evolved over the past 30 years.

In the past 30 years, Canadian whiskies have undergone a HUGE redefinition of what constitutes as a whisky.

Ever since Glen Breton shook the market with the first Canadian-made single malt, many other distillers have changed the tune of how they approach making this spirit.

In New Wave Canadian Whiskies, Graham Fletcher from L’OCA Cellars will highlight the subtle ways this golden dram has evolved, guiding a tasting of these uniquely Canadian expressions:

  • Bearface Elementally Aged 7 Year Old Whisky
Matured in three different oak casks and exposed to Canada’s wild elements, this whisky is known for its bold character and layered complexity
  • Signal Hill
Crafted in Newfoundland from a blend of corn and barley, this whisky is non-chill filtered to preserve depth and texture, offering a smooth yet modern profile
  • Lot 40 Dark Oak Whisky
Finished in heavily charred oak barrels, this 100% rye whisky amplifies spice and richness, pushing the boundaries of what rye can deliver
  • Two Brewers Innovative Release 46
From the Yukon, this bright and complex whisky showcases experimental production methods, with each release standing as a unique one-off exploration of flavour
