Taking action: creating, sharing, and promoting Indigenous voices in art and museums.
The Night of Ideas, an annual event dedicated to the free circulation of ideas and knowledge, will take place in Canada in April and October 2025 under the theme “Pouvoir agir / Taking action.”
Organized by the French Embassy in Canada, and the Institut français du Canada, in collaboration with the network of Alliances Françaises and numerous local partners, this event invites Canadian civil society and youth to share their vision of the contemporary world and to collectively reflect on how we can act in the face of today’s major challenges.
In Edmonton, the Night of Ideas will be held on October 9, 2025, at the Visual Arts Centre of Alberta (CAVA).
Meet Miriama Bono, Polynesian architect, artist, painter, curator, and president of the International Festival of Oceanian Documentary Film. She will share her experience and perspective on how museums can become inclusive spaces that amplify Indigenous voices, especially those of young artists, and foster intercultural dialogue.
This year’s theme, “Taking action: creating, sharing, and promoting Indigenous voices in art and museums,” celebrates artistic creation as a form of action and recognition.
