COME FEST WITH US AND CELEBRATE YOUR CREATIVE AGE!

The Festival of Edmonton Seniors Theatre – FEST – is back after a 5 year hiatus. After being postponed in 2020, GeriActors is thrilled to bring back this unique and fun festival, celebrating the creativity and artistry of older adults.

Through both performances and workshops, FEST provides opportunities for people of all ages to engage with Edmonton's vibrant arts community, learn new skills, and showcase their work in theatre, storytelling, music, dance and more.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 4

Introduction to Oral Personal Storytelling with Bethany Ellis | 10 AM – 1 PM
We all have stories from our lives that are waiting to be told, sometimes we just need inspiration, a little push, and encouraging listeners. This workshop will use story prompts and other activities to draw out your true life stories and help you work on skills to shape your narratives in a supportive and entertaining way.

Introduction to Clowning with Christine Lesiak | 2 – 5 PM
An introduction to clowning. Live in the moment! Laugh in the face of failure! You'll discover the fun in foolishness as we tap into our greatest creative resource – PLAY. Practice radical self-acceptance as you explore your personal clown. Clowning is an important part of actor training, and a fundamental skill for physical comedy and improv. Noses provided.

Stories, Songs, and Stage | 7 – 9 PM
Join us for an evening of Stories, Songs, and Stage. This performance event features captivating stories told by Bethany Ellis, improvised fun from Rapid Fire's Improv for the Fabulously Mature, and more. This cabaret style event is sure to delight all ages. Reception to follow.
