The first Prairie Bioeconomy GUILD networking event of the season will examine some of the common bottlenecks that clients face as they scale up.

Alberta has an abundance of agricultural feedstocks that can be transformed into bioindustrial and value-added products. This presentation will showcase some of the processing capabilities/capacities that we offer and examine some of the common bottlenecks that clients face as they scale up.

Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation's Bio-Industrial Opportunities Section provides technical and business development support to project developers looking to transform agricultural feedstocks into non-food value-added products. It operates a 10,000-ft2 pilot facility called the Bio Processing Innovation Centre as well as a bench-scale analytical lab that clients can access to advance their industry projects.

Speakers:

  • Victor Cheng, Senior Industry Development Officer
  • Jianbo Lu, Senior Bioresource Engineer
  • Anna Bakowska-Barczak, Senior Scientist – Bio-Processing
