Join us for an afternoon of fun, food, inspiration, entertainment, activities, community, insight and celebration!

SCAN! Edmonton and The Council of Canadians would like to invite you to our Earth Day Festival!

It will be a festive and meaningful celebration of our planet including Indigenous Ceremony, impactful speakers, songs, family activities, art, green innovations, films, live music, food and fun! Let's come together for our power, our country and our planet and find out how climate solutions = affordability + health + national unity + a good life for all. The festival plans so far:

Program 1-2pm

  • Indigenous Ceremony
  • MC, Speakers from New Grocery Movement, Edmonton Youth for Climate, Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE), Keepers of the Water, Alberta Environmental Network, Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness (ECOHH), Climate Justice Edmonton, Edmonton City Council (Michael Janz)
  • Raging Grannies - singing

Activities 2-4:30pm

  • Welcome and tabling by SCAN! Edmonton and Council of Canadians Edmonton
  • Fun family activities, crafts, games and tabling by Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS), City of Edmonton Urban Forestry, Common Horizon/Edmonton Youth for Climate, For Our Kids Alberta, SNAP - Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists, Touch Grass Club & Edmonton Native Plant Society & Arnica Wildflowers, Edmonton Coalition on Housing and Homelessness (ECOHH) and Young Indigenous Women's Circle of Leadership
  • Interactive green technology displays and tabling: solar panels, heat pumps, retrofits
  • Live keyboard and fiddle music by Council of Canadians
  • Vegan hotdog roast by Vegans and Vegetarians of Alberta (VVoA ) and food vendors
  • Film screenings (including Later is Too Late)
  • Talking with local politicians
