Session 1: Assessing LLMs for Business Applications
Generative AI, powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), is at the forefront of a technological revolution. With the pace of innovation increasing, businesses are eager to leverage this game-changing technology—but many face challenges right from the start: which LLM is the right fit for their specific business needs?

This talk will:

  • Briefly explain what LLMs are and why they’re becoming indispensable

  • Explore how businesses can choose the most suitable LLM for their goals

  • Offer practical advice on applying LLMs to business problems

Speaker: Rhys Chouinard
Rhys' career journey began with studies in Math and Astrophysics at the University of Alberta, later transitioning into Experimental Particle Physics. From the world of dark matter to the cutting edge of data science, Rhys mastered applying machine learning techniques to business problems during his tenure at ATB Financial. As a Distinguished Data Scientist, Rhys now leads AI-driven product development and mentors the next generation of data scientists, focusing on how to scale AI as a productivity multiplier.

Session 2: Using Generative AI & LLMs in a Secure Environment: Use Cases and Logistical Challenges
While LLMs are revolutionizing business, security remains a critical concern—especially in sensitive sectors like healthcare, finance, and government. How can organizations leverage the power of generative AI while ensuring robust security and compliance?

In this talk, we will explore:

  • Real-world use cases for LLMs in secure environments

  • The logistical challenges and risks organizations face when deploying these technologies

  • Best practices for managing security concerns while implementing AI solutions
