Secondhand Dreamcar With Steve Pineo Show 2

Secondhand Dreamcar has established itself as a driving force on the Alberta music scene over the past 18 months.
One of CKUA’s favorite acts, as the band’s debut disc Answer The Call, landed at Number 6 on the Top 100 albums of 2024, Secondhand Dreamcar is also a dynamite live act comprised of nine musicians who paint outside the lines of specific genres. This cast has collectively worked on some of the finest jazz, funk, folk, soul, and blues projects ever created in this province.
Last year, the band was on the receiving end of rousing standing ovations at the Edmonton Blues Festival, the Kaleido Festival, and their sold-out album release bash at St. Basil’s Cultural Centre. And just a year ago this group stirred up a great bit of musical mayhem at the Yardbird Suite for two sold-out nights when the band was joined by guests Marcus Trummer and Kirby Sewell.
Steve Pineo is guesting for the two nights of this Secondhand Dreamcar stint and the versatile singer-songwriter and guitarist brings a superior batch of original, blues-basted songs with him which he’ll plug into Secondhand for portions of the evening.
Pineo’s deep resume includes some brilliant albums, with A Perfectly Good Friendship and Around the Horn leading the list, and his songs have been recorded by the likes of Prairie Oyster, Tim Williams and Paul Brandt. He’s a superior horn arranger which is one of many reasons why he’ll be a great fit with Secondhand Dreamcar.
