Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) is a music festival held every April in Canada and the United States, in honor of jazz as an early American art form. In order to celebrate the long history of this music so dearly beloved by this band, the DBBB is bringing a FREE family friendly show to City Hall.

Admission will be entirely on a first come, first serve basis as this is a non-ticketed event. Get ready to thrill to some of your favourite memories in this show designed for children from 3 to 93, as the DBBB takes on some hit themes from favourite cartoons! This project is supported by the Edmonton Arts Council, the City of Edmonton, and the Edmonton Downtown Business Association.

The Don Berner Big Band is the city of Edmonton’s flagship large jazz ensemble. An Edmonton jazz favourite for over a decade, the Don Berner Big Band became the first professional large jazz ensemble in Edmonton to have a fully programmed concert season in 2021. Featuring Edmonton’s best jazz musicians, the Don Berner Big Band presents an eclectic season drawing from classic big band and swing repertoire, collaborations with contemporary and pop artists, adaptations of works from other mediums, and more with a variety of special illustrious guests, all presented in the acoustically stellar Triffo Theatre in Downtown Edmonton!
