In this workshop, you will learn to write Lemko-style pysanka using the drop-pull technique.

This technique of decorating eggs has been used traditionally in parts of Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania and Germany. You will learn and practice several basic drop-pull patterns, while you design your own drop-pull egg or copy a traditional one if you prefer. You will leave the workshop with the pysanka you work on in class, and a drop-pull tool so you can continue exploring this technique on your own if you wish. We will provide full raw chicken eggs, if you prefer to work on different eggs, feel free to bring them to the workshop.
