“The Other Side of Christmas” – Eleanore’s Monologue
The Other Side of Christmas is a heartfelt and humorous play about putting down the burdens of perfection and embracing what truly makes the holiday season special – each other.
At a local diner, Eleanore navigates a solo Christmas dinner after the death of her husband, in a poignant and surprisingly hopeful expression of walking through grief.

“No Substitutes” – Vanna’s monologue
Vanna’s class has been having wildly unsuitable substitute teachers lately – but she doesn’t snap until a clown arrives in this hilarious one-act comedy; a dark comedy with some gory details.

“AA is a Lot Like Baking Bread” – Joan
part stand-up, part heartfelt exploration of the similarities between the 12 steps to recovery and following a recipe for the perfect loaf of baked bread.

“Rare Birds” – Janet
A mom struggles to connect with her teenage son after the death of her husband by suicide. Janet is terrified that her boy may follow in his father’s footsteps.

“Hungry Elsa” – Queen Elsa
A funny and honest exploration of body image and the impossible physique Disney princesses have portrayed for young, impressionable girls since the dawn of cinema.

“Yoga Fart” – Casey
What could be the ultimate humiliation becomes a learning experience in self-love and acceptance, in this hilariously vulnerable scene.

“A Brave Girl” – Susan
A self-proclaimed “scaredy-cat” tells the harrowing story of surviving and rescuing victims of a workplace shooting, based on true events; you never know how strong and brave you are until the situation you’re in demands nothing less.

“I’ve Been Dead for One Year” – Maria
The opening monologue of the Ballad of Maria Marten introduces the audience to narrator and ghost of Maria, who goes on to tell the tale of not only her murder, but the tragic details leading up to her end, and the life she lived before: loved and cherished, not to be forgotten.
