“Soul In The City" is a love letter to Edmonton, a city that has blossomed into a mosaic of cultures, rooted and grounded in the rich history of the African diaspora.

Evolving from its early days as an opportunity for Black settlers in the 1920s, Edmonton now proudly stands as one of Western Canada's most populous city for Black inhabitants.

Our story spans continents, extending across the globe. From Oklahoma to Nigeria, Jamaica to Somalia, to Haiti and beyond—it is all a testament to the many influences that have shaped who we are in Edmonton today. We prove that no matter where we come from, we bring our experiences, our music, and our soul with us. Join us on February 1, 2025, with the phenomenal Melafrique as our house band and other amazing local performers when we reveal just what we mean when we say, " Soul In The City".

For the second year in a row, 5 Artists 1 Love will be featuring the phenomenal 'Melafrique' as our house band, in addition to a number of talented local performers and musicians!
