McLeod Bowman and Bray. Telling stories…Let’s start with jazz
A singer, a Leo and a Torontonian walk onto a stage…
Meet the eclectic trio who discovered their shared sensibility about music and defying genre rules while on tour with the Rocky Mountain High concerts, celebrating the music of John Denver. A jam session in the basement of a venue turned into an idea of a trio, and the groundwork was set for a new project.
Cara Lianne McLeod is a vocalist who defies easy categorization. Her voice has graced stages from the Canadian Finals Rodeo country singing competition to a courtyard in Rome singing Contessa in The Marriage of Figaro. As a vibrant performer and thoughtful educator, Cara continues to push boundaries with upcoming releases and an unwavering commitment to connecting with audiences across genres.
Sean Bray’s love of the guitar started at age 12 after seeing “The Buddy Holly Story”. He has never lost his passion for the instrument and this year marks his 40th year as a professional musician. Through his studies at the Manhattan School of Music, and private lessons with jazz greats, John Abercrombie and Wayne Krantz, as well as further studies in Nashville with Telecaster wizards Brent Mason and Guthrie Trapp, Sean has developed a unique and sought after style. His love of jazz and country, and his ability to seamlessly blend these two genres has led him to be regarded as one of Canada’s top guitar players.
Neville Bowman’s (pianist) career is a testament to versatility. Starting as a pipe organist and heavy metal aficionado, Neville’s journey spans jazz, funk, symphonic, and musical theatre. From New York to the vibrant scenes of Tokyo, and all across Canada his multifaceted expertise has made him a sought-after pianist, vocalist, producer, and performer.
‘McLeod Bowman and Bray’ takes you on a story-filled trip through the Great American songbook with blues, vintage pop and original compositions thrown in for good measure. Guaranteed to be a night to remember!
