Have you ever wondered how sound can transform a scene, set the tone, or enhance the emotional impact of a production? Do you want to learn how to design sound for a show but don’t know where to begin, or how the sound designer fits into the overall production team?
Walterdale Theatre is committed to the support and development of talent in the Edmonton theatre community.
Thanks to the generosity of Theatre Alberta’s Workshops by Request Hometown Series program and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts we are pleased to offer another workshop!
Join us on January 18 from 10:00am – 5:00pm for an Introduction to Sound Design workshop with renowned playwright, director, dramaturg, performer, and sound designer Darrin Hagen. This workshop will cover the essential techniques and tools used in sound design, exploring how to create atmosphere, build tension, and support the narrative through sound. Darrin will also provide insight into the sound designer’s role and how they collaborate with other departments to bring a production to life.
