How can we build power & accountability when the community is distant day to day? Explore Design Justice & co-create solutions for change!
Introduction to Design Justice & Applying it in a Work Context
As designers and folx interested in systemic design, how can we build power and accountability in our workplaces and organizations when the community we serve may be distant or absent in our day-to-day work? We will delve into the history of Design Justice, and the Design Justice Principles and then collaborate on creative solutions and alternative visions for our communities. Through a collaborative and intentional process, attendees will co-create futures that are within reach for themselves, and their work (school or otherwise), and take away practical ideas and tools to use in their ongoing work and lives.
This session is inspired (and credit noted) by the amazing work of the previous DJN Principles at Work Working Group - and will borrow some templates and ideas used, alongside general DJN theories, ideas and past workshops.
