Celebrate National Forest Week with Sacred Connections to Mother Earth, a 20-minute mini-documentary in the Zeidler Dome, followed by a Sharing Circle.
From 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, celebrate National Forest Week with a screening of the 20-minute mini-documentary Sacred Connections to Mother Earth in the Zeidler Dome! Special guests from the Northern Forestry Centre (Canadian Forest Service) will help us to dive deeper into both scientific and Indigenous Knowledge of our forests.
Sacred Connection to Mother Earth explores different ways people connect with the land through discussions with three groups of local Alberta women: Elders, scientists, and farmers. They share how they have found connection to the natural world and the importance of coming together to learn from each other.
The goal of the video is to showcase different perspectives and support people in their own journeys toward building authentic, positive relationships with the land and their community.
Members of the documentary team will join us to provide deeper insights on the film. Please prepare to stay in the Zeidler Dome for 20-30 minutes after the film is over to partake in a Sharing Circle to reflect on the experience.
