Love flutters on delicate wings in this Scottish tale!
Alberta Ballet opens the season with a dramatic first for the company: a debut of La Sylphide in full-length.
The story follows the passionate highs and lows of a Scottish farmer who becomes enchanted with a beautiful spirit. Drawn into an ethereal supernatural world, he finds himself torn between loyalty to his fiancee and the allure of the other-worldly.
The exquisite handmade costumes will be incorporated into Alberta Ballet’s production assets and the new sets will be designed by Alberta Ballet Executive Producer Małgorzata Szablowska and constructed by Alberta Ballet crew.
The timeless themes of love, longing, and the human desire for the unattainable continue to captivate audiences, and Alberta Ballet’s interpretation promises to celebrate the company's exceptional talent.
This quintessential white tutu romantic ballet will dance its way into your heart.
