You’re invited to the fictional town of Seahaven at Metro Cinema’s 2024/2025 Season Launch with a special screening of Peter Weir’s The Truman Show!

Prior to the screening we’ll share a look ahead at our upcoming season of programming and future plans. Join our celebration in the lobby for on theme cocktails, a poster and online auction, our colouring contest, photo ops, Dawg Gone It Food Truck, and more!

After the screening, for a perfect “double feature”, you’re also invited to the afterparty screening of American Genre Film’s: Hey Folks! It’s The Intermission Time Mixtape—a haunted found-footage ode to moviegoing and the snack bar featuring a series of six magical VHS compilations that preserved vintage movie and drive-in ads.

Truman Burbank is the star of The Truman Show, a 24-hour-a-day reality TV show that broadcasts every aspect of his life without his knowledge. His entire life has been an unending soap opera for consumption by the rest of the world. And everyone he knows, including his wife and his best friend, is really an actor, paid to be part of his life.
