Help give students the tools they need to succeed.
For mothers, there is an immense responsibility and mental load that comes with ensuring their children are well-prepared for the school year. The task of gathering all the necessary school supplies can be both time-consuming and financially straining, especially for families living on limited incomes and single-parent households — a reality for many local women.
Help reduce a known barrier preventing children and youth from successful learning and engaged participation in the classroom at Women United’s Day of Caring.
At this hands-on volunteer opportunity in support of United Way’s Tools for School initiative, you’ll join fellow community changemakers to fill backpacks with classroom essentials for vulnerable students in our region while learning more about the program.
Last year, United Way volunteers filled more than 18,000 backpacks for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students! This year, we expect to support even more students as demand continues to grow.
