re:invention Reception

Our upcoming exhibition is titled “re:invention”. It features the artworks from Erika Germain and Thomas Weir from Edmonton, Alberta and Gerry Ruecker from Regina, Saskatchewan. Join us for a reception on July 18 at 6:30pm.
Erika Germain merges painting, print media, ceramics and social practice to express her thoughts about how we share meaningful connections through language and artmaking.
Gerry Ruecker combines discarded highly decorated picture frames with reclaimed and recycled objects to create new constructions. Using fragments of the frames.
Thomas Weir sees the art object as a source for exploring a realm beyond language. Inspired by his drawings, he creates plaster sculptures positioned into imaginary worlds that he photographs and collages into a panoramic image to create cyanotype prints from.
