The Grindstone Comedy Fest presents a one hour performance of Stand Up Comedy featuring headliner Clare Belford with Bita Joudaki, Kamal Aladeen & Noah Brodeur
Clare Belford
Clare Belford is a comedian and a very nice person. Hailing from northern Alberta, she cut her teeth early on by forcibly telling deeply personal jokes about womanhood to drunk tradesmen. Nowadays she is a veritable fixture of Canadian comedy. Clare has performed at festivals like Just For Laughs, the New York Comedy festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival and she appears on CBC’s New Wave of Stand Up. She writes for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and her debut album, The Entire Cabbage, plays regularly on SiriusXM, and was named one of the Best of 2021 by Bullseye on NPR.
FEATURING:
Bita Joudaki
Bita Joudaki is an Iranian-Canadian writer and comedian. Bita has performed comedy across Canada and the US at festivals like Vancouver International Improv Festival, Combustion Festival, Motor City Comedy Festival, and SF Sketchfest. Bita earned a Leo Award nomination for her directorial work on "The Slowest Show," a CBC GEM comedy series. Most recently, Bita has worked as a story editor and writer on CTV's Children Ruin Everything and is in development at CBC with her original series, Leila and the Zit. She was also a participant of the Netflix Canada Creator Program.
Kamal Aladeen
Comedian Kamal Alaeddine got his start as a festival street performer and circus artist. Since beginning stand-up comedy, his performances have taken him around the world. This includes representing Canada at The World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. In Vegas, he also did a residency, joining 'Beacher's Madhouse' at the MGM Grand. Kamal's television appearances include NBC's The Tonight Show, Comedy Central's Gong Show and Canada's Got Talent.
Noah Brodeur
Noah is an up and coming comedian hailing from the sheltered suburbs of Edmonton Alberta. Noah's act has been described by audiences as "So dumb it's somehow smart" and "Really nailing the 'nerdy-guy' thing," both real things people have said to his face. He thinks they were meant as compliments.
