The Grindstone Comedy Fest presents a one hour performance of Stand Up comedy featuring headliner Debra DiGiovanni with Abbas Wahab, Bita Joudaki and Jim Kerr.

Debra DiGiovanni

Debra DiGiovanni is a stand-up comedian and performer originally from Toronto, now based in Los Angeles. Debra can be seen around the world appearing in comedy festivals like Moontower, High Plains, JFL Sydney, and JFL Montreal. Debra also hosts the hugely popular podcast Killing Time w/ Debra & Zach, and her second comedy album Lady Jazz was nominated for a Juno award: Comedy Album of the Year 2019. Debra has also performed stand-up on CONAN, Comedy Central’s Stand Up Featuring, and Season 2 of Unprotected Sets for Epix.

Abbas Wahab

Abbas Wahab is a Canadian comedian and actor. He's been featured on Just For Laughs, Winnipeg Comedy, and Edinburgh Fringe festivals. Wahab has appeared in such TV shows as Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Boys, What We Do In The Shadows, and The Handmaid's Tale. Abbas will be making his feature film debut in M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming big-budget thriller, Trap. He has garnered a loyal online following of over 90k users on Instagram and 200k on TikTok. He's most well known for his viral "job interview" and "marketing team" series, which parody the hiring and advertising processes of popular companies.

Bita Joudaki

Bita Joudaki is an Iranian-Canadian comedian and filmmaker. She has been writing and performing comedy for the last fourteen years, and recently wrote and directed an episode of The Slowest Show, a comedy series commissioned by CBC for their streaming platform, CBC GEM. Bita was also a member of Bad Dog Theatre’s Featured Players, and has performed comedy across Canada at festivals like Vancouver International Improv Festival and Combustion Festival in Toronto. She holds a BFA in Film, Video + Integrated Media from Emily Carr University, and a MFA in Film Production from York University. Her films have screened across North America at LA Web Fest, where she was nominated for Best Comedic Actress, and at the National Screen Institute. Bita has worked as a Story Coordinator and writer on several comedic TV shows in development.

Jim Kerr

Since 2018, Jim Kerr has been cracking up audiences at comedy venues in dozens of communities across Canada. Jim’s big personality and peculiar observations on current events and daily life are enough to win over any crowd and are guaranteed to have you rocking in your chair. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, he has performed extensively across western Canada with credits that include Fort St. John’s High on Ice Festival and Ottawa’s Dirty Bird Comedy Festival. In addition, Jim co-owns Billy James Records, which has produced over 20 stand-up comedy albums for some of Canada’s finest talents.
