Payphones is an alt-folk band based in Edmonton, Alberta. Using intricate vocal harmonies, lively acoustic accompaniment, and earnest, vulnerable lyrics, Payphones delivers emotional music with a nostalgic feel, channeling the “newly antiquated” feeling of their namesake. Their debut album, Rioting Heart, explores themes of queer heartbreak, isolation, and personal growth.
