Running, Running is a jazz-rooted collective that traverses diverse landscapes by combining music and poetry. They take inspiration from the prairies, rustic homesteads, and still mornings as they navigate terrain that is as melancholic as it is sublime.

Running, Running is Keaton Smith and Ethan Tonack, guitars; Natasha Riddell, poetry; Kessler Douglas, bass; and Zane Baker, drums and electronics. Each member is an accomplished performer in their own right, having led their own effective solo projects before joining together to form Running, Running; you may recognize their members from Free Golf Clubs, ToneArt, Whiling, Evergreen Trio, the Edmonton Poetry Festival, and the Myth Country Fair.

In late 2023, the quintet was formed. All hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, they found each other out of their shared interest in capturing rural charm within the arena of improvised music and poetry. Running, Running is currently touring to support their upcoming release “And Everything Is in Motion!”
