From one initial scene, a cast of talented improvisers extract every bit of inspiration to take the audience on an exciting journey through an improv multiverse.

The Deconstruction is one of the most iconic improv formats created by improv legends Del Close and The Family (Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, Neil Flynn, Miles Stroth, Adam McKay, and Ali Farahnakian). From one initial scene, a cast of talented improvisers extract every bit of inspiration to take the audience on an exciting journey through an improv multiverse.

At IMPROVAGANZA, The Deconstruction will be performed by an all-star cast of festival artists led by Brian James O’Connell.

One of the most well-versed instructors in the format, Brian James O’Connell travels the world teaching his expertise in The Deconstruction as part of his ALL IMPROV courses and as a founding board member of Camp Improv Utopia. A main stage performer, beloved bar manager, coach & teacher until the very end at iOWest (RIP), O’Connell is also proud to be a Co-Founder of The Pack Theater, LA Weekly’s BEST OF LA Pick for “Best Theater Company” two years in a row.
