Join Kappella Kyrie at their concert, "Alleluia", to celebrate the launch of their first professional CD recording.
We're pleased to announce our CD Release Concert on Thursday May 30, in celebration of our first recording, Alleluia.
The evening concert and recording includes highlights we have worked on for the past few years, plus new works from this season. You'll hear everything from Kyrylo Stetsenko’s ,,Благослови, душе моя, Господа” (Bless the Lord, O My Soul) from his Vespers, to an arrangement of Dolly Parton’s Light of the Clear Blue Morning.
We are also pleased to collaborate with Yurii Hryhorash, a young, talented baritone from L’viv, Ukraine, who will perform four selections with our chamber choir at the concert and whose brilliance and capacity as a soloist is captured through these selections on our Alleluia recording.
In addition, you'll hear the premiere of Воскресіння (The Resurrection) by Edmonton composer, Diana Tayler, commissioned by Kappella Kyrie. The work is set to a poem by the award-winning Ukrainian poet, publisher, visual artist and political activist Marjana Savka and is about the optimistic spirit of so many Ukrainians fighting for their country.
We look forward to officially releasing this recording and sharing this milestone project with you. Please join us!
