Join us in celebrating the incredible achievements and progress of women over the past century at the exhibition Women: 100 Years of the AGA
AGA (Art Gallery of Alberta) is turning 100 on Aug. 18, 2024 and to celebrate this important milestone, YWCA Edmonton and AGA have teamed up to showcase the incredible contributions that women have made to the province’s oldest cultural institution over the past century. There’s lots to see, including a collection of pieces by trailblazing female Albertan artists curated by AGA Associate Curator and Collections Manager Danielle Siemens.
Women of the AGA: Celebrating 100 Years of Achievement runs until early August and is financially supported by the Edmonton Heritage Council. The exhibit also features storytelling about nine women who helped shape and build AGA. You’ll meet everyone from Maud Bowman, the gallery’s first president and executive director, to Brenda Draney, an Edmonton-based artist and AGA’s first Indigenous board member.
Please join us for this free public viewing.
