The Shean Piano Competition

On Friday, May 17 and Saturday, May 18, 2024, six pianists from across Canada will take to the stage of Muttart Hall at the Alberta College Campus of MacEwan University (10050 MacDonald Drive, Edmonton) as they vie for the $8,000 top prize in The Shean Piano Competition and the opportunity to play with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at a later date.

This year's competitors (with hometowns in parentheses) are:

  • Henry From (Bellingham, WA)
  • Carter Johnson (Campbell River, BC)
  • Dane Ko (Mississauga, ON)
  • Gabriel Landstedt (Los Lunas, NM)
  • Jingzi (Linda) Ruan (Surrey, BC)
  • Adam Sun (Burnaby, BC).
  • The adjudicators for this year's competition are: David Hoyt, Chair; Ian Parker; and Joachim Segger. Admission to The Shean Piano Competition is $10 per sess.
