Social planning meets Synthetic Populations! RWI’s poster presentation on data simulated for Youth Sense of Belonging was a success at UC Berkeley’s Othering and Belonging Conference in Oakland, CA, in April 2024.

RWI is hosting a Lunch & Learn webinar on Friday, May 17 @ 12PM Mountain Time, to showcase this work which resulted from a collaboration with the Children and Youth Planning Table and the Grand River Transit team in the Region of Waterloo on Youth Belonging.

RWI generated the Waterloo region and ran scenarios, including the impact of accessible programming and subsidized transit on Belonging to connect potential investments to individual and community health, economics, and retention outcomes. A huge shout out to the CYPT and the Grand River Transit team for championing this initiative. The project led to intriguing insights from de-siloing decisions across multiple fields that converge to affect today’s youth and their ability to succeed and give back to the community!
