Get Ready for a Close Encounter of the Prehistoric Kind!

Experience a close encounter with some of the most extraordinary creatures to walk the Earth. Dinosaurs: The Exhibition is your chance to get up close with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and skeleton casts that will bring you back in time, way back, to the Mesozoic Era (252-66 million years ago), the time of the dinosaurs, which includes the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods.

Hear the dinosaurs roar, see them move, and compare how you measure up! It's a roaring good time as you discover over 10,000 square feet of dinosaurs from around the world!

  • Immerse yourself in the life-like sights, sounds, and ultra-realistic movements of favourites like the herbivore Triceratops and the "king of the tyrant lizards," the Tyrannosaurus rex, along with many others, even newly discovered dinosaur species!
  • Stand next to the massive 65-foot actual size Diplodocus skeleton replica to appreciate the sheer scale of these amazing creatures!
  • Check out an Edmontosaurus skull cast – which, you guessed it – is a type of dinosaur with an Alberta and Edmonton connection. This type of large, plant-eating, duckbilled dinosaur was first discovered in 1912 in the Drumheller area, but other fossils have since been found in Edmonton. Studying the Danek bone bed in Edmonton, paleontologists have discovered Edmontosaurus was a speedy grower who took only 10 years to grow from a puppy-sized hatchling to a 35-foot-long giant!
  • Plus – you're going to dig it! Embark on your own paleontological journey and try your hand at a detailed and realistic excavation with real paleontological tools, such as brushes, awls, and picks.

In the Tots Explorer Tent, little ones can assemble fun dino puzzles, hear stories, analyze fossil evidence, and enjoy many other activities! And with two dig sites, children will love the hands-on fun of uncovering skeletons.

Dinosaurs: The Exhibition is enormous fun for all! Big and small. Don't miss it.
