We are delighted as part of SOUND OFF 2024 to open up the conversation to explore, 9 months on, the state of Deaf Creative Leadership afresh in a two hour Sunday Brunch conversation’ with D/deaf Sync Leaders who we’ve been working closely with over the years, including SOUND OFF’s very own founder/Director, Chris Dodd.
It’s been 3 years since David Bobier of VibrafusionLab.com brought Sync Leadership with its unique disabled-led leadership thinking and coaching practice to Canada.
Because of the pandemic, Sync was only able to run virtual programs in Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Atlantic provinces from 2020-2023. These programs worked with some of the most exciting D/deaf artists, producers and performers in Canada today, all with natural leadership flair and talent, supporting them to find balance, brilliance and belief in their leadership and to carve out their next professional steps.
In 2023, Sync Canada met with David and two of these Deaf leaders: Connor Yuzwenko-Martin and Dr. Jenelle Rouse at Tangled Arts + Disability in Toronto and working with Deaf filmmaker Alexa Hickox, they made a film about Sync and Deaf Creative Leadership from their perspectives and practices.
